Before you begin
- Have your Trezor device and cable ready.
- Prepare physical paper for your recovery seed; store it offline.
- Download Trezor Suite only from the official website and verify the installer when possible.
- Never share seed words or PIN with anyone, including support.
Initial setup
Install Trezor Suite
Choose the desktop installer for the most stable experience (Windows/macOS/Linux) or use the web app if preferred.
Connect & verify
Plug your device in. Follow on-screen checks for device authenticity and, if prompted, install firmware updates directly from Suite.
Create or recover
Create a new wallet to generate a seed, or choose recover to restore from an existing seed. Write the words on paper — do not store them digitally.
Set a PIN
Set a secure PIN on the device to prevent unauthorized physical access.
Using Suite daily
Manage accounts
Enable coins on the Accounts page. Each account provides receive addresses, balances, and history.
Receiving funds
Click Receive on an account and always verify the address shown on your Trezor device before sharing it.
Sending funds
Click Send, enter destination and amount, then confirm the transaction details on your device before approving.
Fees
Choose from fee presets depending on how quickly you want confirmations — Suite shows network fee estimates.
Extra features
- In-app swaps & purchases (third-party services): review fees and policies before using.
- View-only wallets: import xpubs to monitor without exposing keys.
- WalletConnect support for signing dApp transactions using the hardware device.
- Export transaction history for bookkeeping (CSV).
Security best practices
- Store your recovery seed offline in multiple secure physical locations.
- Always verify addresses on the device screen before sending.
- Keep firmware updated, but ensure you have your recovery seed before any update.
- Type or photograph your seed, or enter it on any website or phone.
- Buy devices from unauthorized sellers.
Troubleshooting
- No balance shown: confirm correct account index and that the device is unlocked; recover from seed only if necessary.
- Device not recognized: try a different cable/port or reinstall drivers on Windows.
- Firmware problems: follow official update steps; back up your seed first.
